Training and development have always been fundamental to the NACC and underpin everything we do for our members. From our regional seminars to our national forums, each of these platforms is designed to support your growth and professional development.
As you will have heard, the NACC is progressing its training offer and, by Spring/Summer 2026, we will be launching two new qualifications to further support you and the wider sector. These are two long-awaited and much-needed qualifications:
- Level 2 Special Award for Chefs in Health and Social Care Catering, developed in partnership with the Hospital Caterers Association (HCA) and the Confederation of Tourism & Hospitality (CTH). More details via www.NACCtraining.co.uk
- Level 4 Senior Culinary Chef Apprenticeship, delivered in collaboration with Umbrella Training.
At this pivotal moment for the NACC, I am delighted to share that the NACC National Executive Board last week voted to appoint
Sophie Murray as the NACC Training Academy Officer. Sophie has already been closely involved in the development of both qualifications and will now lead on their rollout, as well as further NACC training opportunities to benefit our organisation and drive forward the workforce agenda.
“I am absolutely thrilled to be supporting the NACC in the crucial area of training, which I see as a pivotal role in strengthening the workforce in this sector. I am honoured to be appointed as the NACC Training Academy Officer. With the upcoming qualifications the NACC is involved in, this is a truly exciting time. I will do my utmost to ensure our workforce has access to relevant and high-quality training in care catering. I have a background in Further Education, as well as care, nursing, catering and hospitality, and my passion for this area never wanes.” Sophie Murray RN (MH), BSc -NACC Training Academy Officer
I am sure you will all join me in congratulating Sophie on her appointment and in supporting the continued growth of this important area of our work.
