Helping Residents Celebrate Christmas with an apetito Festive Feast

Published: 31st October 2023

With Christmas fast approaching, it’s time to start getting ready for the big day. And, thanks to leading care home meals provider, apetito’s, new Christmas range, residents will be able to enjoy a truly festive feast this year.

Developed by its team of in-house Chefs and Dietitians, apetito’s 2023 Christmas menu range is full of much-loved classics and delicious new dishes such as its Wiltshire Ham, served with an Orange & Cranberry Sauce, which is the perfect alternative to turkey, and a new Cauliflower, Broccoli & Stilton Crumble, which is a great vegetarian main meal option, or simply delicious as a side dish.

It’s not Christmas without turkey, and this year residents will be able to enjoy slices of Honey Roasted Turkey in a rich poultry gravy. apetito’s Pigs in Blanket are now gluten free, energy dense and available as side dish, so residents can enjoy even more of these festive favourites.
apetito’s Festive Fruit Crumble, Mincemeat Bar, Brie & Cranberry Turnover and Curried Parsnip Soup are back on the menu due to popular demand. Everyone’s favourite Christmas showstopper is also back, as apetito’s new and improved Premium Christmas Pudding is packed full of flavour, and with more fruit than ever.
For those with a sweeter tooth, apetito’s Pastry Development Chef Matt has been hard at work in the kitchen and developed the Mincemeat Crumble Sponge, a brand-new dish for 2023 and a twist on a traditional classic, with a layer of mincemeat topped with a fluffy vanilla sponge and a light sprinkle of crunchy crumble topping.
It’s also never been easier for residents living with dysphagia to be part of the festivities. apetito’s Level 5 and 6 Roast Turkey with Redcurrant and Orange Gravy are brand new Christmas dishes and join its Level 4 Turkey with Stuffing, so residents with swallowing difficulties are all able to enjoy the taste of Christmas.

Richard Woodward, General Manager of apetito’s care home division said:

“Christmas is such a special time of year, and we want to bring that joy and festivity into residents’ lives with this range.

“Our team of Chefs and Dietitians has worked really hard to make sure all of the dishes are packed full of the Christmas flavours we all know and love. From firm favourites like our Curried Parsnip Soup to new dishes like our Level 5 and 6 Roast Turkey with Redcurrant and Orange Gravy there really is something for every resident to enjoy on the menu this Christmas.”
