Premier Foods has unveiled a new chef-developed Bisto Professional Bouillon range – free from declarable allergens and gluten – providing care chefs with nutritionally compliant formulations for diverse dietary needs.

Compliant with 2024 salt targets and featuring no added MSG or artificial colours or preservatives, the Bisto Professional Bouillon range recipes have been designed to ensure operators are nutritionally compliant. It’s bold in flavour, dissolves easily, and performs well across a wide range of menu applications.

The new range is available in both powder and paste formats – each offering vegetable (vegan), chicken, and beef flavour variants – and are free from declarable allergens and gluten. The powder, an entirely new offering from Premier Foods, provides exceptional value & strong yield – with just 20g required per litre of water. Meanwhile, the paste has been reformulated to provide a richer, more premium mouthfeel, while achieving a similar yield with just 25g required per litre of water.

Commenting on the quality of the new range, The iddsi Guy, Andy Cullum, said: “I recently started using Bisto Professional Bouillon Powder and have been pleasantly surprised by how effective it is in a care catering environment. The powder dissolves quickly, without leaving lumps or altering the required texture, and it enhances the natural flavour of meats, vegetables, and composite dishes without overpowering them. From a practical perspective, it’s easy to store, simple to portion, cost-effective for bulk catering, and consistent from batch to batch. I have tried many other flavour-enhancing products, but this is one I now tend to use regularly to help modified meals look and taste like real food – while still meeting safety and texture requirements.”

Louise Wagstaffe, senior culinary advisor at Premier Foods, said: “Chefs across the care sector continue to balance nutritional standards, tight budgets and the need to deliver meals residents genuinely enjoy. At Premier Foods, we have always been committed to supporting chefs through these challenges. Our new Bisto Professional Bouillon range reflects that commitment, offering consistent quality, flavour and ease of use, while delivering excellent value to ultimately help care teams cook with confidence every day.”

Premier Foods’ new Bisto Professional Bouillon range has been accredited under the Craft Guild of Chefs Product Endorsement Scheme. For inspiration on how to incorporate the new Bisto Professional Bouillon range into meals, care chefs can find a range of recipes on the Premier Foods website.
